Shawn Prescott studied Veterinary Medicine in Ireland, & later came to the University of Florida, where he studied Marine Biology.He then worked in a shellfish hatchery in New York, & subsequently went back to Europe, where he built the first Oyster Hatchery in Europe, with considerable help from the UK Government, who took a 20% interest in his company.
Some years later this business was sold to a major Chemical company, & he then started a company New Technology Ltd. doing International Fish Farming consultancy, as well as producing products for the Aquarium Hobby.
Prescott disposed of this company some years later & moved to Israel, where he founded Red Sea Fish pHarm, in which he is still an important shareholder.
Today he has created a company called Fish-Vet Inc, which produces the world's only truly multimedia Computer program for the determination of Fish disease & related problems. This program in only 18 months has been sold in some 37 countries worldwide, comes in 9 languages, & has been bought by Governments (e.g. FDA, United Nations), Universities, research labs, Veterinarians, Fish Farmers, Feed Manufacturers, Public Aquariums, Live Fish Exporters & more.
Fish-Vet in this important work, today enjoy the collaboration of some36 experts in Fish Disease, from some 23 Institutes, who come from 14 countries,this degree of cooperation, plus the latest developments in Fish Pathology, have enabled Fish-Vet to bring to the Hobby some really important, "state of the art" new products.
