
David has been involved with the marine aquarium hobby since 1987 and, besides being a hobbyist, he also consults and advises on aquarium system setup and installation. He is a successful reef aquarist and is a very keen SCUBA diver. He is also a volunteer at the local public aquarium, Underwater World.His areas of specialty include breeding tropical marine fish and invertebrates with special emphasis on the Lysmata sp. cleaner shrimps and Amphiprion sp. clownfish.
David also has experience with recirculation system design, filtration and protein skimming and live feed culture systems.
He is single and lives in Perth Western Australia. David is presently enrolled, on a part time basis, at Curtin University of Technology where he is completing a thesis on the Culture Parameters of the Western king prawn (Penaeus latisulcatus) to obtain a B.Sc. Honours in Aquatic Biology and Aquaculture. When he is not working on his project he is employed, on a casual basis, as a technician at the Muresk Marine Laboratories where he is responsible for maintaining a rock lobster stress research system.
